Motivação na aula de música: Reflexões de uma professora

O presente trabalho é um estudo de caso realizado com uma professora de música com o objetivo de discutir e contribuir para os estudos sobre motivação nas aulas de música do currículo escolar. Como ponto de partida foram consideradas as pesquisas realizadas no ensino fundamental que, de alguma forma, abordaram questões sobre o desempenho escolar dos alunos e o papel do professor no processo motivacional. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observações de aulas e entrevistas com a professora. A análise teórica pautou-se na definição do termo “motivação” e suas vertentes na educação escolar, considerando os tipos de motivação, as estratégias motivacionais, a figura influente do professor em sala de aula e a sua relação com os alunos. Os resultados mostram a escolha do repertório, a valorização dos alunos como agentes ativos, a parceria da professora de música com a professora de classe e os estímulos positivos dados aos alunos pela professora como os aspectos que mais motivaram os alunos a participar das atividades propostas nas aulas.

Motivation in music class: thoughts of a teacher

This paper is a case study conducted with a music teacher in order to discuss and contribute to the studies on motivation in music classes. A starting point was to search for researches carried out in elementary school that somehow raised questions about student’s school performance, and teacher's role in the motivational process. Data was collected through classroom observations and interviews with the teacher. The theoretical analysis was based on the definition of the term "motivation" and its variations in school education context, considering the types of motivation, motivational strategies, the influence of the teacher in the classroom and the relationship between teacher and students. The results show that the choice of repertoire, the acknowledgment of students as active agents, the partnership between the music teacher and the class teacher as well as the positive stimuli from the teacher are aspects that motivated students to participate more during class.
