A construção da noção de musicalidade em Pierre Schaeffer

Neste artigo pretendo discutir como Pierre Schaeffer constrói o discurso que fundamenta suas ideias sobre musicalidade, no intuito de tentar explicitar que tipo de musicalidade Schaeffer busca, e como esta é apresentada pelo autor – quais referenciais são utilizados e como a argumentação é construída. Para isso farei aqui uma análise de discurso dos primeiros capítulos do livro IV do Traité, onde se encontra a construção discursiva que faz a passagem de uma reflexão sobre a escuta em sentido geral (livro II e III) para uma discussão sobre musicalidade ao fim do quarto livro.

The Construction of the Notion of Musicality by Pierre Schaeffer

In this paper I intend to discuss how Pierre Schaeffer constructs the discourse that ground his ideas of musicality, with the intention to clarify what kind of musicality Schaeffer searches, and how is it presented by the author – which references are used, and how is the argument built. To this aim, I will make a discourse analysis of the earlier chapters of the book IV of the Traité, where one can find the passage from a more general discussion on listening (books II and III) to a discussion of musicality towards the end of the fourth book.
