Transformações do frevo pernambucano: notas preliminares sobre a inclusão de instrumentos elétricos nas orquestras do gênero

Esta pesquisa em curso procura compreender uma das principais transformações estético-musicais ocorridas no frevo pernambucano durante o século XX: a inserção de instrumentos elétricos na configuração de uma nova seção rítmico-harmônica nas orquestras que se dedicaram a esse repertório. Através de entrevistas e análises de fontes (documentais e fonogramas), presume-se que novas práticas de escuta podem ter moldado um novo ouvido social que legitimou, no decorrer dos anos, a aceitação dos instrumentos elétricos. Portanto, buscam-se correspondências entre o contexto social e procedimentos técnico-musicais de algumas orquestras de frevo pernambucano que atuaram no período de 1960 a 1980.

Transformatios of the Frevo from Pernambuco: Preliminary Notes on the Inclusion of Electric Instruments in Orchestras of the Genre

This current research seeks to understand one of the main aesthetic-musical transformations that occurred in the frevo from Pernambuco during the 20th century: the insertion of electric instruments in the configuration of a new rhythmic-harmonic section in the orchestras dedicated to this repertoire. Through interviews and analysis of sources (documents and phonograms), it is assumed that new listening practices may have shaped a new social ear that legitimized, over the years, the acceptance of electric instruments. Therefore, we search for correspondences between the social context and technical-musical procedures of some frevo orchestras from Pernambuco that worked in the period from 1960 to 1980.
