Entre tapas e beijos: a reestruturação da indústria fonográfica na era da reprodutibilidade digital

O final do século XX e início do século XXI foi um período marcado pelos percursos e percalços da indústria fonográfica na nova era digital, sobretudo naquilo que tange às relações entre o mercado de música e os programas de downloads ilegais gratuitos. Essa perspectiva foi trazida à tona em diversos debates, inclusive judiciais, pois as grandes gravadoras estavam visivelmente perdendo mercado para o universo digital e, consequentemente, os seus dividendos diminuindo consideravelmente. No entanto, esse artigo discutirá a posição, produção e o papel das gravadoras nas décadas 1990, 2000 e 2010, em contraposição a essa nova era digital, buscando apresentar dados que demonstram que o período escolhido foi um momento de reestruturação da indústria da música. Tomamoscomo hipótese que nesse novo ordenamento houve uma nova administração da música, porém, em contrapartida, foram geradas brechasainda pouco utilizadas, capazes de abrigar inovações nesse campo.

The late twentieth century and early twenty-first century were marked by paths and pitfalls of the music industry in the new digital age, especially related to the music market and the free programs for illegal downloads. This perspective was brought up in various debates, including legal, because the major labels were clearly losing market to the digital universe and, consequently, its dividends decreasing considerably. However, this article will discuss the position, production and the role of record labels in the decades 1990, 2000 and 2010, in opposition to this new digital age, besides bringing data that shows that this period was a time of restructuring of the music industry. We hypothesized that this new structure led to a new administration of music, however, in contrast, led gaps capable of being a shelter for innovations in this field.
