Formalização do espaço textural melódico em instrumentos monofônicos

No presente trabalho é proposta a formalização do espaço textural melódico em instrumentos monofônicos, tomando como a flauta como referência. A textura melódica é entendida como o resultado do número de linhas componentes de uma estrutura melódica e de suas relações. Interpretadas como partições, as configurações texturais lineares ou melódicas podem se organizar em taxonomia exaustiva e, desta forma, construir um campo de ação composicional com limites definidos. Conclui-se, de forma preliminar, que há uma relação genérica fixa entre configurações texturais e registro (duas a quatro linhas por oitava) e que a flauta, tomada como modelo, pode articular no máximo 12 linhas, com diferentes graus de restrição.

Formalization of textural melodic space in monophonic instruments.

The formalization of the melodic textural space in monophonic instruments is proposed. Melodic texture is understood as the result of the number of component lines of a melodic structure and the relations between them as well. Read as integer partitions, the textural linear or melodic configurations can be organized in an exhaustive taxonomy and then set a compositional working field with discrete limits. The preliminary conclusions lead to a generic fixed relationship between textural settings and registration (two to four lines per octave) and that the flute, taken as a model, can articulate a maximum of 12 lines, with various grades of restriction.
