Aspectos motivacionais da aprendizagem musical dos integrantes da bateria do bloco de carnaval Sargento Pimenta por meio do método O Passo: um estudo com base na teoria do fluxo

A presente pesquisa trouxe como tema a aprendizagem musical e a motivação dos integrantes da bateria do Bloco de carnaval Sargento Pimenta. O objetivo geral foi investigar aspectos motivacionais da aprendizagem musical dos participantes por meio do método O Passo, com ênfase na teoria do fluxo. O Sargento Pimenta é um bloco de carnaval que surgiu em 2010 com a ideia de misturar a música dos Beatles e os ritmos brasileiros utilizando O Passo, um método de educação musical criado por Lucas Ciavatta, como ferramenta para o ensino e aprendizagem musical. A metodologia utilizada nesta investigação foi o estudo de caso e a coleta de dados incluiu entrevistas com os diretores musicais, questionários aplicados aos participantes do bloco e observações dos ensaios. Como principal pressuposto teórico foram empregados a teoria do fluxo de Csikszentmihalyi e os estudos sobre motivação e aprendizagem de Bzuneck, Custodero e Reeve. Os dados coletados foram discutidos por meio de seis categorias de análise: 1) caracterização dos participantes; 2) repertório; 3) motivação; 4) concentração e engajamento; 5) desafios e habilidades; e 6) emoção e satisfação. Os dados foram apresentados de maneira descritiva e por meio de gráficos e tabelas. Os resultados apontaram alguns indicativos da experiência de fluxo na prática musical do grupo, entre eles: altos níveis de engajamento e concentração, presença de desafio, sentimentos positivos de prazer e alegria, experiência da perda da noção do tempo e motivação intrínseca. Fatores como o repertório e as amizades entre os participantes foram observados como de grande importância para a motivação do grupo.

The present study has as theme the topic of the musical learning and motivation of participants in the percussion section of the carnival block Sargento Pimenta. The main goal was to investigate motivational aspects of the musical learning through O Passo method, with emphasis on flow theory. The Sargento Pimenta is a carnival block that emerged in 2010 with the idea of mixing the Beatles' songs and brazilian rhythms using O Passo, a music education method created by Lucas Ciavatta, as a tool for teaching and learning music. The methodology used in this investigation was the case study and the data collection included interviews with the musical directors of the group, questionnaires applied to the block participants and observations of rehearsals. The main theoretical framework used in this research was the flow theory from Csiksznetmihalyi and the motivation and learning studies from Bzuneck, Custodero and Reeve. The data was discussed through six categories of analysis: 1) characterization of the participants; 2) repertoire; 3) motivation; 4) concentration and commitment; 5) challenge and skills; and 6) emotion and satisfaction. The data was presented in a descriptive way through graphics and charts. The findings pointed out the presence of a few flow indicators in the musical practice of the group, like: high levels of commitment and concentration, the presence of challenge, positive feelings of pleasure and happiness, the experience of losing track of time and intrinsic motivation. Factors like repertoire and friendship among the participants were observed as very important to the motivation of the group.
