A performance instrumental em vista de uma narração teatral: as funções atribuídas ao violonista em três obras de teatro musical dos anos 1970

Partindo de três obras de teatro musical contemporâneo dos anos 1970, este trabalho analisa a inserção do instrumentista, à partir do exemplo do violão, em obras multidisciplinares de conteúdo narrativo. O procedimento de trabalho inclui sobretudo a análise das partituras de pontos de vista diversos: literário, harmônico-estrutural, técnico-instrumental e estético-teatral. A observação nos leva a considerar o violonista como um “artista total”, que participa integralmente da constituição de um novo tipo de teatro.

The instrumental performance in view of a theatrical narration: the functions assigned to the guitarist in three works of musical theater of the 1970s

This paper studies three works of contemporary musical theatre of the 1970s, trying to analyze the participation of the performer, taking the guitarist as example, inside multidisciplinary and narrative works. The working procedure mainly includes analysis of the scores from different viewpoints: literary, harmonic-structural, technical-instrumental and aesthetic-theatrical. This study leads us to consider the guitarist as a "total artist" who participates fully in the creation of a new kind of theatre.
