A Música Sacra religiosa: fatores antecedentes no Brasil ao Motu Proprio Tra Le Sollecitudini

Este artigo apresenta um recorte de uma pesquisa de doutorado em andamento. Seu objetivo é contextualizar brevemente a situação em que se encontrava a música sacra religiosa no Brasil antes da promulgação do documento pontifício Motu Proprio Tra le Sollecitudini, pelo Papa Piu X, em 1903. Na seção inicial o texto traz um sintético esclarecimento sobre o conteúdo das disposições eclesiásticas para a música sacra. A seguir expõe, na forma de um breve panorama, a conjuntura brasileira em que a música da igreja se encontrava ao final do século XVIII e século XIX, nas celebrações litúrgicas católicas. Em seguida, é abordado o referido Motu Proprio e os primeiros fundamentos para a música sacra estabelecidos na introdução e princípios gerais do documento.

The Church Sacred Music: the Preceding Factors in Brazil to the Motu Proprio Tra le Sollecitudini

This article presents part of a PhD research in progress. Its goal is briefly to contextualize the situation in which the sacred church music was in Brazil before the promulgation of papal document Motu Proprio Tra le Sollecitudini, by Pope Pius X in 1903. At the initial section the text provides a summary explanation about the content of ecclesiastical rules for sacred music. As follow it sets out, as a brief overview, the Brazilian situation in which church music was in the late eighteenth century and nineteenth century, at Catholic liturgical ceremonies. Then it approach the referred Motu Proprio and the first foundations for sacred music established in the introduction and general principles of the document.
