“Gente Humilde”: um tema, duas canções

partindo da análise de duas versões da canção “Gente humilde”, esta comunicação busca compreender o modo como essas obras constituem narrativas distintas que permitem a interpretação dos sentidos e significados que ambas adquirem em seus respectivos contextos de produção. Ao mesmo tempo, procuraremos apontar como as dimensões social e estética se entrecruzam e se inscrevem na estrutura de cada uma das obras, visando, no limite, estabelecer a mediação entre arte e sociedade sem abandonar a perspectiva histórica. Para tanto, este estudo orientar-se-á pela teoria crítica conforme proposta por Antonio Candido em Literatura e Sociedade.

“Gente Humilde”: one theme, two songs

From the analysis of two versions of the song "Gente humilde", this paper seeks to understand how these works constitute distinct narratives which allow the interpretation of meanings that acquire both in their respective contexts of production. The social and aesthetic dimensions intersect and structure of each of the works. At the same time, we will try point out how the social and aesthetic dimensions intersect themselves and form part of the structure of each of the works, intends, in short, to establish mediations between art and society without forgetting historical perspective. Therefore, this study will guide by critical theory as proposed by Antonio Candido in Literature and Society.
